Ronnie!  That was sufficient – it was never Peterson – to let your mind wander back to that distinctive yellow peaked helmet in one of the iconic John Player Lotus Grand Prix cars at one of the great corners on one of the classic circuits. Woodcote at Silverstone, Curva Grande at Monza or Casino Square in Monaco. No matter where, car and driver were seemingly defying the laws of physics. The car trying its utmost to defeat its occupant. But Ronnie had its measure. It didn’t always appear to be the case but just when you thought he’s done it this time, a deft flick of the wrist or a tab of throttle would see the car yield to its master and away they would go until next time and the next time.
